Jude Griebel (b. 1978)

Jude Griebel is an artist known for his highly detailed sculptures that depict our relationship with the world around us. His works often show landscapes, animals, and human waste merging together in intricate forms, illustrating the impact of our actions and consumption habits. These sculptures, while acknowledging the destruction we cause, also suggest the possibility of transformation. Griebel's art is rooted in the tradition of anthropomorphic representation, reflecting a planet in crisis. The meticulous craftsmanship of Griebel's sculptures stands in contrast to the themes of mass production and instant gratification. Each piece is carefully carved from wood, shaped from clay, and painted, requiring hours of contemplation on the nature of consumerism and our place in the world.
