Sam Branden: Alloy | CHART x Pegasus at Love’s Club
24 Oct - 21 Dec 2025 CHART is pleased to announce Alloy, our second solo exhibition with Brooklyn-based artist Sam Branden, presented offsite in collaboration with Pegasus at Love’s Club. Branden continues his exploration of material tension, urban texture, and structural hybridity through seven new constructions. An opening reception will be held on Friday, October 24, from 6–9 pm. The exhibition will remain on view through December 20, 2025, with Sunday hours from 1–5 pm and by appointment.
Alloy investigates the potential of mixture—industrial and elastic, rigid and malleable, found and fabricated. These works act as alloys of the urban landscape, forging new structures from the collision of texture, function, and meaning. Branden situates these hybrid forms as both material experiments and metaphors for the layered conditions of contemporary life. His signature use of hand-sewn textiles and stretched spandex creates a dynamic sense of tension: fabrics strain against frames, spill beyond borders, and crawl across walls—suggesting both containment and escape. In this state of expansion, the surfaces remain taut yet unstable, as if always on the verge of rupture. Through this physical intensity, Branden reveals the precarious balance between rigidity and flexibility, utility and excess, order and entropy.
Color plays a vital role in Alloy, where vibrant clashes and abrupt transitions generate a visual symphony that echoes the layered chaos of the urban environment. Mesh overlays, stitched seams, and improvised assemblages introduce rhythm and interruption, evoking the raw energy of city life—its density, its dissonance, and its constant flux.

The paintings are also a return to a traditional stretched canvas, the first again for the artist after many years. Szarek’s work, both sculpture and painting, capture the dynamism of motion and focus the viewers’ attention on the fleeting moment of the present. Read more -
R & R: Elisa Soliven: Amphora Nights
20 Jul - 18 Aug 2024 Throughout her artistic practice, Elisa Soliven examines how the human figure can lead to further formal transformation. Her clay sculptures, created through ancient ceramic processes that allow for enhanced flexibility and durability, often begin as contemporary portraits of friends. Likenesses and figurative elements are reworked and layered, leaving only hints of the original permutation, such as an amphora’s handles akin to arms akimbo.
